Lemon Blueberry Breakfast Cookies

Lemon Blueberry Breakfast Cookies 2

If you don't follow me on Facebook or Twitter, you may not know that we recently bought our first house! After moving to Seattle a little over a year ago, we can officially call Seattle home. We moved to Ballard and I am loving being in walking distance to the Sunday Farmer's Market in Ballard.

Sunday at the market. #ballard #seattle

I'll be posting more about the house along the way, it was pretty much move in ready but we do have some painting to do. After renting apartments for the past 8 years where I could not paint walls, it's a pretty overwhelming task. So far my train of thought is picking paints based on foods, like Celery Salt, because I like it in my Bloody Mary's

One of my favorite things about our new home is

Cedar Planked Salmon with Cayenne Lime Butter

Copper River Salmon Cedar Planked

Remember when I told you how Copper River Salmon gets the red carpet treatment when it arrives here in Seattle? Well, the folks over at Copper River Salmon were nice enough to send me some Sockeye Salmon. And since copper river salmon tastes like butter, I was pretty darn excited!

This salmon is so delicious on it's own, so I knew I would be doing something pretty simple. I decided to cedar plank the salmon on the grill, and drizzle it with some cayenne lime butter. We've had a ton of visitors since we've moved to Seattle, and cedar planking salmon is a go to dish to show them a taste of Seattle on their visit.  The Cayenne Lime Butter was an added twist, and one I'll be using again. On salmon, on veggies, on steak, and guzzling straight up.

Slow Cooker Kalua Pork

Slow Cooker Kalua Pork 2

I'm on a roll with easy recipes for you all, with my 3 Ingredient Beer Bread, Strawberry Bruschetta and now this easy Slow Cooker Kalua Pork!

This recipe was inspired by our recent trip to Hawaii and the red and black sea salts I picked up when I was there. The traditional method of cooking Kalua Pork is digging a pit, and cooking the pig underground with lava rock and banana leaves all day long. I skipped digging a pit in my backyard and let my slow cooker make the magic happen.

Mr. KMW absolutely loved this pork. He requested I get the recipe posted right away so he can make it when I go out of town next week.

The pork is versatile and you can

Strawberry Bruschetta

Strawberry Bruschetta

I  just can't get enough strawberries lately. The strawberries I'm finding at my market are bursting with flavor, and I find myself coming home with 1,2...or sometimes 3 pints each visit.

Today, I have for you, a super easy and delicious strawberry appetizer for your summer entertaining!

Needless to say, when I had a BBQ this weekend, strawberries were going to be on the menu. I already had a dessert plan so I decided to go with something a little more savory. I saw a handful of Strawberry Bruschetta recipes that call for goat or cream cheese, but I tried that, and I thought it took away from the rich strawberry flavor. And since I can't get enough strawberry in my life these days, I clearly did not want any cheese interfering with the flavor.

Reader Alert: This is the first time in my life I have ever opted out of eating or using cheese. I am a cheese addict.

3 Ingredient Beer Bread

Beer Bread 2

This is no joke, I have a 3 ingredient homemade bread here for you all today! No fancy machines needed.

I came home from work, tossed 3 ingredients in a bowl, mixed them together, put them in the oven, and then I was on to making dinner. Easy as that. And it's delicious! I am a total sucker for warm bread, fresh out of the oven, and I learned that Mr. KMW is too. I made it last night, and I refuse to admit how much or how little is left...

Beer Bread 3

This is a recipe from my Mom (that she got from a neighbor back in the day), she made it quite a bit growing up and I now know why. Easy to make and even easier to devour.
