The ingredients must have come to me in my sleep. The more I use my slow cooker, the more I love it.

This salmon is so delicious on it's own. I decided to cedar plank the salmon on the grill, and drizzle it with some cayenne lime butter.

After having a bite of the Chipotle Chicken Tacos my coworker brought for lunch a couple of weeks ago, this was my dinner two days later.

If you know me you know I am a sucker for avocado and chipotle. I used a rotisserie chicken so it's super easy to make.

Egg, Prosciutto & Tomato Muffins
Sriracha Meatballs

I'm a big fan of savory muffins. These are pretty much mini omelettes in a cup. They are perfect for weekend brunch, and even better to make ahead for the week and then pop them in the microwave.

A little bit about me

This is a blog from my kitchen in Jersey City Seattle. I love cooking, eating, traveling, sports, wine, beer, reading, restaurants, eating, cooking, and my husband who cleans the dishes that I cook with.

A little bit more about me

I’m originally from Kansas, but growing up my family hopped around the world a bit, and I ended up a Jersey girl. I recently relocated to Seattle, which is where I reside with my husband.

I have two older brothers, which meant that growing up I spent more time on the sports fields trying to keep up with them than in the kitchen. My parents can hardly believe that this food is coming out of my kitchen.

I didn’t just play sports, I’m a huge sports fan and stay true to my Kansas roots so my loyalties are with the Jayhawks, Chiefs, and Royals. My husband is a big Yankees fan, so I’ll root for them when they’re not playing the Royals. I’m a big time college basketball fan and March is my favorite time of year.

Everyone always thinks I went to the University of Kansas due to my obsession with their basketball program and coach, but I went to Lafayette College in Pennsylvania.

My study abroad program in college was Semester at Sea, which means I traveled around the world on a ship. This is when I learned to be adventurous with food and told myself I would try anything. So far I haven’t found much I don’t like.

Growing up my mom always slaved away making Angel Food Cakes from scratch for birthdays. I don’t think I realized there were other options for birthday cakes until I was 27. One day I'll make one for this blog.

I participate in triathlons. I personally don’t like swimming, biking, or running as individual sports, but when you combine the three they aren’t that bad.

I work full time. This blog is an evenings and weekends project that I work on in between hanging out with my husband, family and friends, working out and frequenting bars.

My husband is the clean and organized one in our house, I don’t want to think about what our apartment would look like if I was in charge of the cleaning.  Possibly a little bit like my apartment in college aka ‘the shithole.’

I love to travel. I have my vacations planned through 2015. Let me know if you have any suggestions for 2016.
