The ingredients must have come to me in my sleep. The more I use my slow cooker, the more I love it.

This salmon is so delicious on it's own. I decided to cedar plank the salmon on the grill, and drizzle it with some cayenne lime butter.

After having a bite of the Chipotle Chicken Tacos my coworker brought for lunch a couple of weeks ago, this was my dinner two days later.

If you know me you know I am a sucker for avocado and chipotle. I used a rotisserie chicken so it's super easy to make.

Egg, Prosciutto & Tomato Muffins
Sriracha Meatballs

I'm a big fan of savory muffins. These are pretty much mini omelettes in a cup. They are perfect for weekend brunch, and even better to make ahead for the week and then pop them in the microwave.

Ready to Pop Baby Shower & An Amazing Waffle Recipe

As my due date has come and gone, I figured now would be a good time to do a post on my Baby Shower.

My friend Janie hosted

and as always, her condo was well decorated and the food was delicious. If she wanted to quit her day job she could definitely become an interior decorator or personal chef.

The theme was 'Ready to Pop' and if we thought I was Ready to Pop then (5 weeks ago), you should see me now at 40 weeks + 3 days. She made melt in your mouth red velvet Cake Pop Balls. No frosting necessary, they were so decadent on their own. I refuse to admit how many I popped in my mouth.

The shower favor was Popcorn with some sort of deliciousness seasoning. I don't know what it was, maybe crack, because it was addicting.

Banana, Peach and Granola Smoothie

Banana, Peach & Granola Smoothie #breakfast

As someone who has never liked milk, I've been making a lot of smoothies to get myself some more calcium, and to add more fruit to my diet. This recipe is definitely a base, I am always mixing up the fruit I use, with both a combo of fresh fruit from the local market and frozen fruit that I pick up at Trader Joe's. I like using frozen fruit to help thicken up the smoothie.

Not only did I enjoy this smoothie, but it was a hit with Mr. KMW...while he is not always down with smoothies for breakfast...he wasn't letting any last drop of this one go to waste.

I think @598hertan was a fan of this morning's smoothie concoction

Other smoothies I have been enjoying are my Peanut Butter Banana Smoothie, Green Monster Smoothie and Strawberry Green Tea Smoothie.

See below for the recipe, adjust the milk or other ingredients to get the smoothie to the texture you like.

Peanut Butter Pancakes

Is Summer flying by for everyone else?

We've been busy settling into our new house, hosting visitors and enjoying the beautiful Seattle Summer. Last week we made a trip back to the East Coast for my friend, Samantha's, wedding and had a fantastic weekend. Congratulations to the happy bride and groom!

First Dance #schacknado

Samantha was a college friend, so I had a great time catching up with friends.

This week we're hosting my brother, Aaron's familly, they're up visiting from California. An advantage of West Coast living is that we get to see them more often, we're loving having a full house and getting some quality time in with our nephews.

Oh, and these pancakes? They have nothing to do with our trip to the East Coast or my nephews. Well maybe I'll make them for my nephews, but these may be beyond their comfort zone, they're pretty picky. Then again, who couldn't go for some fluffy, peanut buttery pancakes to start the day?

Lemon Blueberry Breakfast Cookies

Lemon Blueberry Breakfast Cookies 2

If you don't follow me on Facebook or Twitter, you may not know that we recently bought our first house! After moving to Seattle a little over a year ago, we can officially call Seattle home. We moved to Ballard and I am loving being in walking distance to the Sunday Farmer's Market in Ballard.

Sunday at the market. #ballard #seattle

I'll be posting more about the house along the way, it was pretty much move in ready but we do have some painting to do. After renting apartments for the past 8 years where I could not paint walls, it's a pretty overwhelming task. So far my train of thought is picking paints based on foods, like Celery Salt, because I like it in my Bloody Mary's

One of my favorite things about our new home is

Butternut Squash Hash Browns

Butternut Squash Hash Browns

You know we love our Butternut Squash around here. We usually go through one squash a week, and this time around I decided to make it for breakfast. If you're a butternut squash fan, KMW is the place for you.

I also put one of my latest favorite kitchen gadgets to use, the shredding disc on my food processor. I love that thing. Oh, I need to shred this block of cheese? 20 seconds and done. Shredded the heck out of some potatoes for this Bacon, Egg & Cheese Hash Brown Skillet. It can help you make coleslaw in no time at all. I'm a shredding machine lately, well I guess my food processor is more the shredding machine...you get it.

So get out your shredding attachment, shred up some butternut squash and make yourself some hash browns!
